HALTERS AND LEADS
The halter and lead do more than connect you physically to the llama. They connect you mentally as well. Wearing a halter – or a hat, or a backpack, or a harness, going WITH the pressure of a lead rather than AGAINST it, walking at the same speed and in the same direction as you do – these things don’t come naturally.

Madrid and Brandon in a costume class at a show. Brandon’s a fireman, Madrid is the fire engine. Besides the red cloth, he’s got a fire extinguisher, first aid kit, a blinking light on his forehead and another on the end of the ladder that goes the length of his back. The hose is wound around his neck, and once in a while there was a stuffed toy Dalmatian on the end of the ladder.
